PC/Mac/Linux

1. Open the Telegram app

2. Select the three horizontal lines in the upper left-hand corner

3. In the menu that appears, select Settings

4. Click on Privacy and Security

5. Under Privacy, click on Groups & Channels

6. In the Group invite settings (Who can add me to groups and channels) change the settings from Everybody to My Contacts

7. Click Save

Mobile App

1. Open the Telegram app

2. Tap on the three horizontal lines in the upper left-hand corner

3. Tap Settings in the menu that appears

4. Tap Privacy and Security

5. Tap Groups

6. In the Who can add me to groups chats section, change the setting from Everybody to My Contacts

7. Tap Save
